    Framedyn.dll Error Msg.

When I uninstall a program using Your Uninstaller! 2008 Pro, the error message appears first than the uninstaller continues with no problem. The error message is: This application has failed to start because Framedyn.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

The .dll file is on my computer 4 times under C: Windows > $NTServicePack Uninstall ; ServicePackFilesi386 ; System32dllcache and system32wbem. This last one has the following information when I look in Properties.

Ver 5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp-sp2-rtm. 040803-2158). Product Name: WMI SDK Provider Framework.
Company: Microsoft. Product Name: Microsoft Windows Operating System.

I wrote to the company ursoftware.com, the makers of Your Uninstaller. They replied that I should search Google with the text where I would find many solutions. Use one of the solutions supplied by Goggle to fix it. Now that's what I call 'a big help.'

I wrote back and received a new solution. "If you are seeing this error message, it means a required. dll file in Windows is missing. The file is part of Windows System Restore, it may be deleted from your system or damaged. Please refer to this Microsoft document for a solution about this error: kb 319114.

In KB 319114, the Symptoms are not the same, I have no problem with either System in Control Panel or My Computer/ Properties. The message only appears with my uninstaller.

Does any one have any suggestions about what I should do to fix this error message?

I, too, have that file under C:WINDOWSsystem32wbem (and nowhere else in the Windows folder).

The old Sysinternals program FileMon, which I think has morphed into something new, would help you track down where the uninstaller program tried to find the dll. It can be used to track every file system access a program makes. With that information, you could copy the dll to the critical location. Otherwise, someone else who uses this program would need to supply the information.

    Re: Framedyn.dll Error Msg.

Just completed SFC /Scannow, it took 1 hour and 46 minutes to finsh, with my clicking Restart all the way across. I just looked at the file again and theres been no change that I can see, unless it was corrupted and a fresh one installed.

I don't use my uninstaller every day, but the next time I use it I will be able to tell if the problems resolved. Shouldn't there be copies in the other 3 locations on yours too? I guess not or you would have put them there, but why on mine and not on yours is the question?

Thanks for responding, I hope another user will have more to suggest.
