    Windows Product Key Update Tool

I'm wondering if anyone has tried this tool: Genuine Microsoft Software. A friend who needed some replacement hardware had an "invalid" copy of Windows XP reloaded. He wants to reinstate his original valid information. Apparently he can't run things like magicjellybean because of "nanny" server filtering and AV software.

Yes, it does work. I had a client that had a system worked on and was told he needed to get a copy of Windows. So he did, but the wrong version, Pro vs., Home. He had Pro installed but bought Home, I had a spare copy of Pro and we exchanged and all I did was do as the instructions asked all is still well.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Get him to turn off the AV software while he runs ProduKey or Magic Jelly Bean. Or even run them in Safe Mode.

It should not be beyond the wit of man to outwit stupid software!

I'm afraid it may be beyond the wit of this man. I've already suggested both of those methods and they've been deemed too hard!

If you get him to install CrossLoop, you could remote control his PC from your one!

I have just noticed that with Vista you can do this from within Windows itself. Control Panel...System (I don't need to change the key, so I have only gone as far as step one.)
