    Adobe version 9?

What version of Adobe should I purchase to write/read PDF.
I see that "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended." is available for 30-day trial. (Buy from US$449.00)
Is this a stable/robust version or am I better off looking for an earlier version?

My needs are simple - creating PDF files from Word documents when I'm issuing proposals, training notes etc. No fancy stuff.

    Thanks for any advice.

If your needs are simple, you simply don't need the full Adobe Acrobat. Try pdfCreator, or one of the others in <!post=this post,698176>this post<!/post> - most a lot less than US$499.00...

If you are using Word 2007 see Download details: 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS or Download details: 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF. Both are <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> addins.

Or you could use OpenOffice. Version 3 is nearly out and will save as (export as) PDF
