    Recovered jpeg's

Hello All, my problem is after gratefully recovering 13 GB's of pictures with this forums help on many of them I can see a thumb nail but trying to open and view them with Windows Picture and Fax viewer it say drawing failed. But with ArcSoft Photo Studio they open right up and when I save them they are viewable in WPAFV. Again I am grateful for being able to recover the photos, but was wondering if anyone knew of a faster way to fix the them, ArcSoft only let me do about 20 pictures at a time. I'm retired but...... :-)
Thanks to anyone who may know of a fix.

Are the files damaged? It's difficult to know which program(s) offer the best prospects for batch conversion without knowing what their problem is.

Check out Irfanview. If is a <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> (for home use) well known graphics program that has a batch mode.

    Re: Recovered jpeg's

Thanks Joe & JS, I will check out Irfanview, yes some of the pictures need cropping to edit out the gray parts at the bottom of the picture. Something I didn't mention in my first post was that on my Vista Ultimate computer I am able to view them no problem.
I'm thinking now maybe if I burn some of them to a disk on my Vista computer if they would be able to be viewed on the XP Pro computer?
Thanks again, going to irfanview now and check it out.

I would think that if you burned them to disk from the Vista machine that they would then be viewable normally on any computer. I'd try one disk to see.

Thank you Doc, I think we can call this thread closed.
I downloaded Irfanview to the XP pro machine and can now view thumb nails and the whole picture if I chose.
My daughter can now edit, save, any picture she thinks I didn't have in my files.
I just thought it was a Windows problem with the picture and fax viewer, and that there maybe a KB article or a fix for it.
Thanks again for of your help guys.
