IE7 (on Vista) Favorites disappearing (IE 7 (7.0.6001.18000))

In my office, we have Windows Vista Enterprise with Service Pack 1 with Norwegian Language Pack installed. The computers are member of Active Directory domain, forrest/domain functionality level Windows Server 2003. The Internet Explorer Favorites folder is redirected to user's home directory on file server, using the Group Policy Folder Re-direction feature.

What is happening is that the Internet Explorer Favorites are deleted without the user actually doing this. Security log (audit) on file server shows that the Favorites are deleted from the client computer using the user's user account. I have monitored this 'behaviour' on my own computer, especially when I have restarted it for some reason in the middle of the day. I have a Dell D830 laptop.

Has anyone experienced this or similar problems?

Could it be a privacy feature of your security software? Various anti-spyware packages and comprehensive suites will clean out cookies.

No, I don't think so. This is about favorites (links) and not cookies. We turned off redirection of the favorites folder to user's home directory on file server, and the problem is solved - for now.
