    Delete History form Registry (XP/SP3)

How do I remove web site listings from the registry? I noticed thousands of visisted web sites in some folders (...zonemapdomains, ...psphistory, etc.). I found that I can delete the keys manually, but do erase them all would take forever. Is there a quicker way to do this? Using IE's ToolsInternet OptionsDelete feature doesn't do it.

I use a software package from

    http://www.registryoptimizer.com/search/De...B11gosearch-aro

It automatically cleans out dead links - you might want to try it

I've tried that. I looked at the registry again and some type of browsing history is still there. One of the places where this history is kept is HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft CurrentVersion Internet Settings ZoneMap Domains. There appears to be other lists as well.

I also tried looking at Registry Optimizer as suggested above, but McAfee Site Advisor warnings keep appearing whenever I look at sites featuring the software.

Some security software such as Spybot and others can put sites into the restricted zone. That is used to prevent you from going to known malware sites. In which Zone are these sites?

I don't know what you mean by "Zone", but you're probably right about security software. After looking more closely at the list of web sites, I recognize many as sites that I would never intentionally visit. I removed Spybot, Windows Defender, and other spyware detection programs to see if the registry entries would be deleted, but they're still there. I reinstalled Defender and decided that I'll will stop worrying about these entries.
