    Hidden tables (2000 / 2003)

    Hi everyone,

    I have a table which is hidden, but I want to be able to see the table if I am logged in as an administrator, and not if a normal user. The security is not perfect but its ok for my needs. So I am looking for some kind of

    If rst!Administrator = True Then
    Me.cmdUserDetails.Enabled = True
    tblUsers.Hidden = False

    Of course this is air code I have no idea if making a table hidden or unhidden is even possible with vba

    Many thanks
    Regards

    Re: Hidden tables (2000 / 2003)

    Try this:

    Application.SetHiddenAttribute acTable,"tblUsers", False

    to unhide the table tblUsers, and

    Application.SetHiddenAttribute acTable,"tblUsers", True

    to hide the table again if necessary.

    PS End users shouldn't see the database window at all, so it shouldn't matter whether a database object is hidden or not. And any user can specify hidden objects to be displayed in the database window, so hiding doesn't help much...
