    re-installing old emails after a re-install (office 2000/word)

I recently had to wipe and re-install XP and MS Office (AntivirusXP2008!!!!!!) on my wifes laptop.
I saved every thing from the C drive before doing the re-install. The laptop is now up and running. The BUT is that I have not been able to find either her old emails or her old address book. Having saved the old C drive - should they be on there? If so can anyone tell me how to find them and how to put them back. I'm assuming that if I can find them I can just copy them back?

She was using MS Outlook -and I can go back to that if necessary - but I recently changed her over to Thunderbird.

Outlook's e-mails, contacts etc. are stored in a .pst file with the name of the Outlook profile. By default it's in Cocuments and Settings<username>Local SettingsApplication DataOutlook; this is a hidden folder so you need to show hidden files and folders in order to see it.

See Thunderbird - Importing Outlook Emails and Addressbooks for an illustrated step-by-step description of importing Outlook items into Thunderbird.
