    Comodo install advice

    Hi -

I will be downloading Comodo on WinXP, SR2 and wonder if there is anything I should do to avoid pitfalls?. I know to turn Windows Firewall off,--is there anything else to do/not do?

    My thanks,
    Acer

    Re: Comodo install advice

I have Comodo running on my Vista partition and if I remember right I more or less accepted the default settings.
It will turn off the windows firewall when it installs.

    Re: Comodo install advice

Yeah, me too, Acer. I also went to Comodo when I installed Vista a couple of months ago and ZA was a problem. Like Bob, it went like a breeze and I didn't do anything special to prepare for it.

The only "problem" I've ever had is during software installs, the Comodo popups tend to drive me nuts if the installer is running a bunch of "sub-programs" or DLLs. As recommended by another Lounger, when that happens, I just tick the Comodo box to treat the current situation as an installer and the popups stop. After a reasonable time, Comodo politely asks if I want to put the regular setting back. I've been well satisfied with it so far and I dumped ZA on my XP system as well.

    Re: Comodo install advice

    Morning -

Went to Comodo's download page and was presented with choice of 64bit or 32bit to download.

I cannot tell which my Dell Dimension 2400 PC supports. (WinXP, SP2) Properties doesn’t indicate and couldn’t find this info in Device Manager….

Where else might I look? (The documentation doesn't mention this either.)

    Thank you,
    Acer
