    True Image 11 cheap

This week only $9.99 USD - RegNow Order Form. Incredibly cheap price for this software. Must mean a new version is imminent but a very good price nevetheless.

    Re: True Image 11 cheap

For a limited time (time limit unknown), at least today and who knows? you can also purchase Acronis True Image 11 from Acronis directly here: Acronis True Image homepage - click on "Buy Now" and then enter the code <font color=blue>ATIH80</font color=blue> to order Acronis TI-11 for $9.99. (When you enter the "code" and press the "Apply" button, the price will change from the normal $49.99 to $9.99)... continue shopping.

GET IT now. The reason for the reduced price is because Acronis is going to release version 2009 shortly; currently in Public Beta2. Remember, once you have version 11, you will be entitled to a significant discount to upgrade to version 2009 if you so desire. <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15>

    Re: True Image 11 cheap

I don't think I'll be sending any more money Acronis's way. I feel their support is too poor. Recently I've had terrible trouble uninstalling their products. Using add/remove programs should be sufficient but isn't. I had true Image and Disk Director installed using an account that I changed into a limited user account. I wanted to install the programs on my new Admin account. Impossible. I kept getting error messages when installing. I had to change my limited user account back to an admin account, install from there and then change it back to a limited user account. I think Acronis might be as bad as Norton when it comes to uninstalling. I did a thorough search of the registry, removed all references to Acronis but still the system wasn't clean. It was as if they left something deliberately hidden to trip the user up. I think they began to go downhill once they introduced the "home" versions of True Image. I've written to them twice but not had a reply in several weeks.

    Chris,

Your experience is expected and has nothing to do with Acronis, per se. Limited user accounts are restricted and the inability to install most software is part of the Limited account configuration. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    Jeff,

    >>Acronis is going to release version 2009 shortly

As a Beta tester for TI home 2009, I feel there is a LOT of work to be be done with Beta 2 before it is released in final. Can't say much more at this time but I HOPE they are doing some big time rewriting right now.

    Re: True Image 11 cheap

Jeff, I feel you didn't read my post very carefully. I'll restate the problem again. Acronis True Image 9 and Disk Director Suite 10 will not uninstall completely. This means that when you try to install them again using a different admin account they won't. It has nothing to do with using a limited user account. With one admin account I get an error message saying the installer is corrupted. With another admin account the installer runs correctly. That is nuts! It is as if Acronis have some secret files to tie the user to one admin account and they remain on the computer even after uninstalling and removing all references to Acrons by hand from the registry.

I'd like to point out that True Image and Disk Director have always worked well for me. But my feeling is that user support and quality control by Acronis have gone down-hill.

    Cheers,

    Chris (Hunt)

    Re: True Image 11 cheap

Have you tried a Registry cleaner, e.g., RegSupreme Pro or even CCleaner > Registry to get rid of any orphaned or stubborn folders/files? And, a manual search on the HDD within "C: drive" to locate any of these leftovers and then deleting them might help too.

Re: Acronis support... <img src=/S/yep.gif border=0 alt=yep width=15 height=15> you won't get any disagreement from me about that. Their support has greatly declined over the years which is a shame. I still think they have the superior product and I'll continue to use it since it has, as you pointed out in your own experience, worked great for me. In fact, I restored my XP partition (dual-boot machine) just for fun... okay, I'm a little strange at times, to see how long it would take. From start to finish it only took 12.5 minutes. Granted there are only 13 gigs used out of the 30 gigs of allocated space. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15> But, it worked flawlessly as it always has, especially when I really NEEDED it to.

    Re: True Image 11 cheap

Thanks for the suggestion, Jeff. I used Ccleaner, revouninstaller, Jv16 Power tools and searched the hard drive as you suggested. That's why I think Acronis were deliberately burying files in an obscure way. I really don't like it when add/remove programs doesn't work properly.
