Selective Image Blocking? (Outlook 2007 SP1)

Have recently moved over full-time to using MS Outlook from Mozilla Thunderbird on my personal PC
(Use Outlook 03 on my corporate work PC for years)
In some ways I prefer TB but the contacts handling is so buggy as to be unusable

One of the features I miss is Image Block
TB like Firefox can have an extension added, specifically Ad Block, to selectively block images on web pages and in this case HTML email
It does so by tracking and blocking specific images by their link/url (although it can be used with wildcards to block all images from some sites etc)
Is there any way to replicate this in Outlook?
So that, e.g. I can open my Daily Dilbert email and read the comic whilst having all the other advertising and links selectively blocked?
I know I can block ALL images or filter all mail from a sender/site/domain but that is not what I want here
If anyone has any thoughts I would greatly appreciate it
    Cheers

Re: Selective Image Blocking? (Outlook 2007 SP1)

I'm not aware of any Outlook add-on that offers similar functionality to AdBlock. Because Outlook 2007 uses a new rendering engine based on MS Word, add-ons for Internet Explorer may have no effect on the display of messages inside Outlook.

If you do not find a suitable add-ons, you could consider systemic options such as your gateway/firewall filtering software, or the hosts file.

Thanks jscher (should have known you would be the 1st to answer)
Yes I am thinking I will need to update blocked domains although I was thinking through IE7 but seems, as you say, that Word is in control so those changes won't help
Best to look to hosts file
Currently checking out the MVPS custom hosts file http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
Thanks for the advice and all you do around here <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
