Outlook Editor (And Others?) (2003/SP3)

(Edited by wdwells on 23-Sep-08 12:46. Title should have read ".../SP3"; not ".../SP2".)
I have noted, and heed the advice to not use Word as the e-mail editor in Outlook. With respect to my users, I have had less than 100% success in obtaining compliance. This situation has exposed the following scenario for me:

With Global Templates (Add-ins) containing AutoOpen, or AutoExec,Main macros;

When Outlook is launched before Word

On subsequently launching Word while Outlook is still open, the Auto macros within the global templates do not run. Nor did they run when Outlook launched Word or at least a portion of it. This is indicated by a missing command bar that is built by an AutoExec.Main procedure in one of my global templates.[/list]Now the question. Are there any other applications which can take control of the Word launch process in a fashion similar to Outlook?

    There might be but I'm not aware of other "major" applications that do that.
