    graphics in documents (2000 SR-1)

I am creating a document of about 15 pages, with lots of photographs (gif files). I cannot get the photos to stay where I put them. I want them to remain where I insert them, as I add or remove text before and after them. If I drag them up or down by just a line or two, they jump all over the place, and not just the graphics I'm moving, but ones nearby as well. I sometimes get three all on top of one another. They even jump from one page to another. This happens whether I insert the gif or just link it. Each graphic has a text box for a caption and the two items are grouped. Each photo is formatted with a .25 pt line around it before it is grouped with the text box. I have them formatted for the wrapping style to be square. How can I get these darned graphics to stay where I put them?

I've tended to set up a table in this situation. Table borders are not shown; I size a cell to the graphic, and insert that graphic into the cell.

    Hi there,

I create a text box and then insert the graphic inside of that. Then you can drag the text box, with picture inside, to whatever location you want. Works great for me.
