    why is some text blue and some regular black . Why can you turn the blue text to black

    I think you will need to explain your question in more detail. Are you referring to an ordinary Word document, or did you open another kind of document in Word, such as a web page or email message?

    I suggest that you try Edit > Paste Special > Unformatted Unicode Text . Otherwise if you just paste you will bring all of the web page formatting into your document.

    When you copy from a browser, the clipboard contains both HTML and text. When you paste, Word usually chooses the "richest" text it can find, the text with the most formatting.

    If you only want unstylized text, use Paste Special and choose Unformatted Text. This is available from the Edit menu.
