Replace blanks with a zero in a range (2003)

Is there an easy way to do this? I want to highlight a range and change the blanks to 0. I thought there was a way you could go to blanks and then I wasn't sure how to put a 0 in the highlighted cells.

    Select the range
    Then F5 Key
    Select Special
    Select Blanks
    Select OK
(all blank cells are now selected)
    Using keypad hit zero
    Now Ctrl + Enter
Excel will replace all blanks with Zero

It did'nt for me the first time when I (curiously) tried. But when I put something (1) at both the beginning and end of the range, then it does work.

I tried putting 1 at both the begining and end of the range, but it doesn't change those blank cells to 0. <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

Then I am afraid that I have no idea why it does not work for you. Is your Ctrl key working ok?

Why don't you try Tom Duthie's suggestion from <post:=735,094>post 735,094</post:> (in this thread)?
