    cropping (Power Point 2003)

I am a new user of PP2003. When working on my presentation of photos, I noticed that the cropping tool will work on some photos and not on others. In fact, I think it probably worked on less than 25%.

Is there a reason for this and can I overcome? There are some photos that need a little cleaning up and doing this within PP is so much easier than taking the photo to another program, cropping it, and then returning to presentation. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks.

Can you discover a pattern as to which pictures can be cropped and which ones can't?

BTW if you crop a picture within Powerpoint and don't compress it afterwards, the complete (uncropped) picture will be stored in the presentation, making the file size larger than necessary.

I had tried to see if there was a connection with the photos I cropped but couldn't find any. However, I appreciate your comment about doing cropping within PP and the consequences. For now I will continue to crop (more carefully) the photos outside PP.

    Thanks for your comments.

"Pictures" which are actually picture filled shapes won't crop (this includes photo album shapes) Could that be it?
