    Pictures in Outlook 2003 (2003)

    Hi all,
I received an email with pictures from a friend of mine but i cannot see the pictures at all.I have noticed that when I open the email on the ble bar at the top of the screen it says plain text, but under internet options - > Mali Format - Compose this message in HTML is selected. Does anyone know that the problem is ?

    Thanks,

Internet Options is not in Outlook.

Your HTML setting is for new messages that you compose, not for messages that you receive.

Doesn't the message list any attachments under the Subject?

Also check the Preferences tab of Tools | Options..., and click E-mail Options... Is the check box "Read all standatd mail in plain text" ticked?

Have you looked for attachments below the subject line of the email?

I cannot see attachment under the subject line, all I can see in the email is "From" and the name of the person who sent the email.

    Thanks,

    This means that either

    a) the sender forgot to attach the pictures (that wouldn't be unusual, I've done that frequently), or
the pictures have been blocked - if you're on Exchange, ask your Exchange admin.

The pictures are embedded into outlook. The strange thing is that some other users which connect to the same exchange server and have the same outlook setup use the same outlook version but they are able to view those pictures... it is odd...

What happens if you open the e-mail, then select Format | HTML or Format | Rich Text?

The options on the Format menu are grayed out, you can only unwrap the text

Sorry, I should have mentioned that you have to select Edit | Edit Message before you can change the format.

I think you'll have to consult your Exchange admin.

I'm sorry, I don't know anything about managing Exchange Server.

If you have an Exchange admin, I'd recommend you talk to him/her. What you need to do & how to accomplish it are dependent on the Exchange version you have installed if indeed it is an Exchange issue.
