Highlight when Record changes (Excel 2002)

    Hope someone can help...

I have an excel file with over 15000 employee records. For each employee, I need to identify when their records go from one band to another. However, the tricky part is for a given employee, he/she can have 10 records but the band only change once. Therefore, I would only need to know the record before the band change and the record after. I attached a sample of the excel file for your reference. How can I do this without having to look at every record.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    In E2:
    =IF(OR(AND(A2=A1,D2<>D1),AND(A2=A3,D2<>D3)),"x","" )

    Copy/autofill down the column
