    Support Ending (Office 2003, SP2)

Support for Office 2003, SP2 will officially end on October 14 as per this blog . In other words, Office 2003 users should upgrade to Service Pack 3.

Apparently the end-of-support date has been pushed back 2 weeks since Joe posted - as you mentioned, it's now stated to be October 14, 2008 instead of the end of September.

Re: Support Ending (Office 2003, SP2)

I don't think it was pushed back; the blog post, originally linked to by Joe, mention that support for SP2 in accordance with lifecycle policy should end on September 17th, but has (at some point) been extended to include the October Tuesday update round, October 14 (and any possible out-of-cycle update released before that Tuesday). That is how I read it when I looked at the link in Joe's post some days ago. So John's post clarified the exact date.

Then it is a different matter if we will see any Office updates in, or before, the October update round. We just had a number of updates in August and September.

Anyhow, it is always good that end of support is mentioned, so that those affected can act. Eh, come to think of it, that should include me. <img src=/S/blush.gif border=0 alt=blush width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15> Thanks all.

The end of support date was Sep. 17th. It is only extended for security updates in the October security release cycle not for other support.
