DVD-ROM problemos

Hi all,

MY DVD Room keeps disappearing from my laptop, I have to restart the laptop and sometimes it appears and then sometimes disappears, it is temperamental .
I have checked the local machines setting to remove upper filters and lower filters , bu there were no lower filters or upper filters on the registry key.
Has anyone got any other suggestions? The laptop model is HP Compaq nx6310

Hi guys,

I have just pressed the DVD eject button and then pushed the DVD back in and then it disappeared.

I took the DVD Rom out of the laptop and put it in again and it seems Ok now, I will do some more tests later

It seems as though you've got a hardware problem. Either the controller, the DVD drive, or the connector. Can you borrow a drive to test?

I think I have solved the problem Joe, restarted the machine many times, installed software, etc and it seems fine. Thanks for your reply.
