easy way to move shortcut keys between templates? (Word 2002 XP SR3)

Im currently re-building one of our global templates. This template is the "Interface.dot" which stores all our custom menus, toolbars and shortcut keys and code.

I can bring the toolbars across using Tools, Templates and Add-ins...Organizer.

The menus I 'll have to create from scratch.

How do I bring across all the shortcut keys from the existing template into my new template? is it an easy export > import? I have a feeling its not?

    I hope I dont have to manually assign each key...this will be a very tedious job <img src=/S/bubbles.gif border=0 alt=bubbles width=31 height=17>

<P ID="edit" class=small>(Edited by jscher2000 on 05-Oct-08 22:13. )</P>In theory, it seems possible to use a process similar to the export/import procedure often used for AutoCorrect entries. However, I'm not aware of any preexisting code that will do it.

Added: In case you never used it, the AutoCorrect export/import solution was in a template distributed by Microsoft. See HOW TO: Move Word AutoCorrect Entries Between Computers in Word 2000. It would not be directly applicable to your situation, but the idea of exporting a table of critical parameters into a document and then using that to rebuild the settings in a second document could be relevant.

Try Chris Woodman's free Shortcut Organizer.

The Shortcut Organizer app is a great tool.

When I used v2.01 - an error msg is displayed "run time error 6068 - programmatic access to VB project is not trusted.

I then used v1.2 - and this version worked and I succesfully copied over all the shortcut keys.

    thank you

Version 2 requires that you tick the check box "Trust access to Visual Basic Project" in the Trusted Sources tab of Tools | Macro | Security...

But if version 1 worked OK for you, it doesn't matter.
