No Virus Protection (Vista Home Premium)

I have gotten the message the last 2 days that Windows has not found a Virus protection enabled. I check my McAfee and it states "protection enabled and up to date".
    What is happening?

    Hei,
I had that problem but with Kaspersky/Vista HP. Normally I 'sleep' the pc but I got rid of the 'mis-information' by 'restarting'. Hope that this is helpful to you ... I never found out 'why' though.

The McAfee software is not communicating properly with the Windows Security Center. As long as McAfee is up-to-date and has protection enabled you should be OK.

Re: No Virus Protection (Vista Home Premium)

I had this problem and raised it with McAfee. I had all Windows Vista patches up to date and McAfee Security was fully updated. The answer in my case was the following from McAfee:
    Run McAfee update tool:
    https://us.mcafee.com/root/McAfeeUpdate.exe
If the issue is not resolved, reinstall McAfee products after running cleanup tool.
