Coded find/replace shows progress bar (2000+)

I have a Word application that needs to multple finds and replaces, even on document startup. I have the coding working fine and screenupdating is disabled, however on the Word application it shows a progress bar over and over.

Can I turn the progress bar display off and on again during this process?

    Thanks!

As far as I know, you cannot suppress the progress bar - even if you temporarily hide the status bar, Word still displays the progress bar.
