sprtcmd.exe will not close on shut down (XP Professional)

I have begun to receive the message that sprtcmd.exe will not close on shut down and I have to push the end now button to shut the program down before Windows XP will completely close and turn the computer off. I have no idea as to what this program is or how to fix it. Any help is greatly appreciated. thanks, John

sprtcmd.exe is an executable program file. This file is a well known file from Dell. It is used for support. This is called Dell support agent and is often found along with the dsagnt module in the same folder. This file is considered a safe file, and is not virus, spyware, or malware related software.

This file should be on your hard drive in location "C:Program FilesDell Support Centerbinsprtcmd.exe" /P

If it continues to give you problems, contact Dell support.
