National Holidays

There are no flags at the top of the forum pages today. Don't know if this counts, but today is Thanksgiving Day in Canada, an officially observed holiday.

Cheers,
Regards,
PaulB

Re: National Holidays

A couple of years ago, Claude did extensive work on the holidays that The Lounge shows. Evidently there were errors, omissions and what have you. Anyhow, our system is now set to recognize and display THE principal holiday for each country. I'm not an expert on this, but I believe it is, for the most part, the founding or independence day for each country.

For Canada of course, that day is Canada Day on 1 July.

But hey Paul, Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadians!

Big Al is correct, we list only one holiday per country (the official National Holiday, if known), even though most countries have several officially recognized holidays.
