    Control and semi-colon (Access 97)

I have one table that I could use the control semi-colon command to insert the current date. However, it does not insert the date, but displays the message of "The expression you entered has a function name that MS Access can't find". All new tables and other previously created tables can use the control semi-colon command. How do I link the function to the table once again?

If it works for other tables in the same database, then it should work for this table also (you don't have to "link the function to a table"). Perhaps the field you are trying to put the date in is too small, or it needs to be a date field?

This happens with just this database table. I should have mentioned that there is only one table in the database. Other access database creations work fine. I suspect something has been "unlinked" with the offending table. It is an irritation but not a major problem.

Maybe you can try to make a new table with the same structure and append the data from the bad table with an append query.
