Add Search Providers to Internet Explorer (IE7)

Just stumbled upon this neat page to Add Search Providers to Internet Explorer. I'm happily using two I created:

    Google AU - to return only hits from <img src=/S/flags/Australia.gif border=0 alt=Australia width=30 height=18> sites:
    http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&safe...#37;3DcountryAU

Google+ - to stop wasting my time with hits on the Experts Exchange site:
    http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&safe...ts-exchange.com

I just used the Google Advanced Search options to let it (Google) generate the required URLs for me. Lots of possibilities to play with here.

Did you know that you can view threads on that site without registering?

    1) Set your browser to disallow cookies from experts-exchange.com.

In IE7: select Tools | Internet Options..., activate the Privacy tab, and click Sites...
Enter experts-exchange.com in the box and click Block, then click OK.
(Any existing cookie will automatically be removed when you click OK)

In Firefox 3: select Tools | Options..., activate the Privacy tab and click Exceptions...
Enter experts-exchange.com in the box and click Block, then click OK.

    2) When you follow a link to an Experts Exchange thread from Google, ignore the dire warnings and scroll down all the way. You'll find a readable version of the thread below all the nonsense.

Thanks Hans. I was informed of that "trick" soon after I made the post. <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>
