    Style + Bold (Word 2003)

When extra formatting is applied to a style, I have some users who see (for example) "Normal + Bold", and others who see just "Normal". Is this due to a setting in Word. Is there a way to hide the "+ formatting" addition to the style name?

    Thanks,
    John

    Select Tools | Options...
    Activate the Edit tab.
If the check box "Keep track of formatting" is ticked, Word creates pseudo-styles such as Normal+Bold. If the check box is clear, you won't see such pseudo-styles.
