    OneCare Scan Slows Down

Every time I run the protection analysis which is one of the options included in Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner, the progress bar fills rather quickly up to 52% but then the analysis starts scanning
    c:windowsinstaller...(msi stream...)
and that's when it starts taking ages to move on; it's still scanning those folders as I'm typing this. Why is it taking so long to analyse such folders and why don't I see any installer subfolder of the windows folder when I look at it through Windows Explorer? (I have "Display hidden folders and files" enabled)

I don't know why OneCare slows down on those folders.

The Installer folder is a system folder, in order to see it you also need to clear the check box "Hide protected system files" in the View tab of Tools | Folder Options in Windows Explorer.

    Re: OneCare Scan Slows Down

Thank you Hans, the path displayed in the OneCare Protection Analysis window shows a number after windowsinstaller, e.g. windowsinstaller32... which increases as the scan progresses but I don't see any numbered subfolders of the Installer folder. I guess I'll just have to start it in the morning and hope for the scan to be over by night.
