Opening Word 2007 (Office 2007/Win XP)

Whenever I open Word 2007 I get the message:

Security Warning Macros have been disabled Options

I have to enable the macros each time.

What am I doing wrong, or do I need to change a setting somewhere?

    Thanks

You might need to change a setting.

By default, macros are only enabled if their source (e.g., template or document) is stored in a Trusted location. Typical trusted locations include your User Templates folder and Word's Startup folder. Macros from sources in other locations usually are trusted only if they are digitally signed.

You can change your Trusted Location list and your general Macro Security level using the Trust Center, which is accessible from the Word Options dialog. If you click the large Office button, you can find the Word Options button at the lower right of that dialog.

However, I think the first question is: where are the macros that are causing the notification? Since you are just starting up, perhaps even to a blank document, this might take a little poking around. If the macros are in your Normal.dot template, which usually is in your User Templates folder, you could verify that this folder is listed as a trusted location. If the macros are in a template loaded from a network drive, you can add that path to the list. Etc. You should not need to adjust the overall macro security level itself.

    Make sense?
