    FireFox Tip (Version 3.03)

I just did this by accident (spastic hand on mouse syndrome), but I can see it will be useful.
In Firefox (and to a lesser extent in IE) you can drag selected text from the web page into input boxes. In FireFox that could be the Google search bar. In IE, dragging only appears to be possible within a web page.

Perhaps an old tip - but new to me!

Yep, works in Fx ver. 2.x also.

(In my case: I found it when I was bored waiting for telephone call ...)

Also found that if one drag a picture to the box (search box etc.) (I was really bored ...), you'll find, beside the URL in the box, a copy of the picture in your temp folder. Useful? I don't know. But what you mentioned can indeed be useful.

In IE7 you can drag text to the search box in the Google toolbar, but not to the address bar.

In Google Chrome, you can drag text to the combined search/address bar.

If you want to search for the selected text with your default search engine in Firefox or Chrome, you don't even have to drag - just right-click and there'll be an option to "Search [search engine] for [selected text]"
    Waggers
If at first you do succeed, you've probably missed something.
