Outlook 03 and xfd files (Outlook 03)

I have a client who when attempting to open xfd files linked in an Outlook message, has the xfd file open in HTML format. She sees all the coding rather than the document. I have checked various settings in Outllook, File Types, etc, but cannot resolve the problem. Where should I be looking? Thanks.

Try the PureEdge viewer, available from Grants.gov.

Thanks Hans, but corporate policy will not allow us to download. We use Adobe Form Client which should open them. For this one user only, we have them opening in html format.

I have no experience with this, but what happens if the user does the following:
    - Save the .xfd attachment to disk.
    - Right-click the saved .xfd file in Windows Explorer.
    - Select Open With | Choose Program... from the popup menu.
    - Select Adobe Form Client in the list of suggested programs.
    - If Adobe Form Client isn't listed, click Browse..., and find Adobe Form Client.
    - Tick the check box "Always use this program to open these files".
    - Click OK.

If Hans solution doesn't work - check her version of Adobe Reader. I ran into a similar problem, where I actually had to reinstall an older version of Adobe in order to read the document in question.

It would appear that Han's solutiondoes not work. For some reason "Always use this program....." does not hold when checked. This problem just started happening when we up-graded to Outlook 03. If document is first saved to desktop, Adobe Filler will open it without problem. Going back to an earlier version of Adobe Reader not an option. Also strange that only one user has the problem.

So the user should always save the attachment to disk. In fact, all users should do that, it's not a good idea to open attachments directly from an e-mail.
