    Immediate Sending (Outlook 2000)

In using Windows 2000 and Office 2000, I notice that under Windows 2000, I cannot immediately send my mail after I click on send. The mail goes to the outbox and prior to closing Outlook, I have to click on Send and Receive to send it. Is there a setting somewhere in Outlook or Windows I can change, so when I click on send, it goes. This happens in both cases, when I am connected and when I am not connected. In the past, it would automatically connect and send or just send if connected. <img src=/S/help.gif border=0 alt=help width=23 height=15>

which mode of outlook? if corp, you need to use LAN connection but it won't hang up when done sending. For Internet mode, there is a send immediately setting somewhere in connection or account settings.

look on tools | services - your account's properties and then the connection tab.

is there a reason you are using corp? for standalone, intenret mode is generally better, unless there is a specific reason you need corp.
