'&' turns to '_' in Form view? (2003)

Could someone tell me why I use an "&" in my design view but it shows up as an "_" in my form view?

    Thank you.

If you want to have an '&' in form view, you have to put '&&'.

In addition to imincorrigible's reply: the & is used in the Caption property of labels to specify the underlined character that can be used with Alt to set focus to the control associated with the label.

For example, if you have a text box and set the caption of its label to &County, it will be displayed as County. The C is the so-called accelerator, you can press Alt+C to set focus to the text box.

As incorrigible mentioned, you can use && to insert an & into a label: Water && Fire will be displayed as Water & Fire.
