Analyzing partitions (Acronis)

(Edited by Just Plain Fred on 26-Oct-08 10:31. )
Hello and greetings,
I have noticed that sometimes when first starting Acronis TI-11 (8101) when the program is "Analyzing Partitions" would sometimes hang or take forever to finish and bring up the main screen. While reading through some of the posts in Wilders security forum http://www.wilderssecurity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=65 i stumbled across this post "True Image 10.0 Excruciatingly Slow Post VISTA SP1 Update" The answer (for me) was to take their advice and disable the "Distributed Link Tracking Client" (found listed in services) for complete step by step and commentary read the aforementioned post, from Acronis, KOLo, et-al. Hope this is of some help to Ya-all. Now when i bring up acronis it speeds through the "analyzing" part. Regards Plain Fred PS. heres a link to the MS article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/312403
