    Eliminating Duplicates (2003)

I have data that I send directly from Excel spreadsheet to an Access table. My first column in Access is the date column. My problem is that If I want to update the data for the same date, I would have to manually delete the previous record from the Access table..Could you tell me how I can eliminate the duplication and update my record at the same time?

    Greatly appreciated.

You could create a link to the Excel data instead of importing them, and create two queries:

    1) An append query to add records from the linked table to the target table that don't have a matching date.
    2) An update query to update records in the target table that have a matching date in the linked table.

The exact details depend on the structure of the table.
