    Video capturing

    Hello
My situation is, when viewing direct stream video from my mini DV camcorder,(using IDEEE 1393 firewire), the picture has great clarity and is crisp, but once capture starts the video captured looses it's clarity as if it's compressed although the format is AVI. 13g per hr. I have three different software programs and has the same results. My computer is 3 gh Ram. Settings are for high quality or to create DVD.Any help would be appreciated.

What software are you using for capture -- Windows Movie Maker? Something that came with your camera or video capture card?
