    Access2007 DB Window (Access2007)

In the DB window, there is a selection for "Tables and Related Views". How can I turn this option off so there is only a list of tables?

Access MVP Gunter Avenius has created a free COM add-in that provides an Access 2003-style database window: DBC2007.

At the top of the Navigation Pane there is a drop down list of options.

If you chooseObject Type from the top half, then you can choose a specific type of object, such as Tables in the bottom half.

Thanks, I don't think I would ever have figured it out. I was clicking all over the dropdown. Not very intuitive.

I suppose there are some benefits to the Navigation Pane, but I have not found them yet.

I find sorting an irritation. Typically I jump backwards and forwards between an Alphabetical sort and a Date Modified sort. In earlier versions this could be done with a single click, once you are on the right page.
Doing it in 2007 seems to take a mixture of several right and left clicks.

That seems to be typical of most things in Access2007. It seems the motivation for change was "let's make it different" rather than "let's make it better".

I don't think the goal was "let's make it different" but "let's make it easier for absolute beginners" without any consideration for experienced users.

Maybe. But like the car manufacturers, they find it easier to market the new model if it doesn't look like the old model. Apparently, people would rather pay for "Change", regardless of how cosmetic.
