    Find & Replace (Office 2000)

    Hello,
I have a very large document and I would like to delete some items. The document was saved from a .mbx file so it also has all of the extra code etc. I would like to delete for example everything that is in between the "<>" brackets including the brackets. I tried the wildcard "*" in "<*>" but for some reason it didn't find anything. I checked off "use wildcards" but then it selected everything.

What kind of search parameters do I use when things are kind of the same, but not. Like <font>, <html> etc.

    Thanks
    Louise

Try ticking the "Use wildcards" check box, and enter the following in the Find what box:
    <code><*></code>
Normally, < and > have special meanings in a wildcard search. The backslashes tell Word to interpret them as literal characters in the search string.
