    Downloaded file (Windows SP3)

Where does this downloaded file reside by default on a PC?

Sorry, I mean the actual SP3 file itself.

That depends. Have you installed SP3 yet, and if so, how?

Went to the download site, selected the SP3 download and watched it run throught the download and then installation process. Is there a chance that the actual file does not live on on my hard drive? If that is the case, is there a way to download the file without installing it?

Chances are that you won't be able to find a single installation file.

You can go to Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers or Windows XP Service Pack 3 - ISO-9660 CD Image File to download the service pack for offline installation.

If you right click on My Computer and select Properties from the drop down menu, the resultant window will tell you if SP3 is installed.

Are you having any problems that you suspect might be related to SP3 being installed ???
