Page number in status bar (Word 2007 12.0.6320.5000 SP1)

When I cut and paste-special text-based articles from the internet into Word, it takes several minutes after the pasting has been done to work out how many pages there are. Is this just something to endure? 2000 and 2003 did not take this sort of time?

Sorry about the lack of replies, apparently others haven't experienced this.
Does it make a difference if you don't display the word count in the status bar?

Hi, Hans. Thanks for the suggestion. It doesn't seem to make a difference, but it set me thinking. I suspect the delay may be to do with Word going through what Word 2007 calls proofing of the large document. My immediate workaroound is to put the cursor on the vertical scroll bar and click and it will tell me which page I am on even before the same information is on the status bar. Perhaps I need to learn some patience..!

    Regards
    Will
