    Digital Camera

I just had to rebuild an old Win 98se box and found I no longer have the CDs for my Canon Powershot SD450 and am looking for some software that will allow me to upload the camera images even if I can't use whatever Canon supplied, which included Zoombrowser and some other apps.

I don't want to have to rely on having my XP Pro work laptop handy all the time and would appreciate learning if there are other options since it appears that Canon does not offer dowloads even for registered customers.

    TIA,

    Jester

You can download an older version of that software here and it's <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15>.

What type of functionality are you looking for? I'm not aware of the Zoombrowser software.

Thanks for the link however you can not download the older versions. If you follow the link you end up at the latest version or 6.x and that will not work with older OS.

The top of the details at the download URL say:
    ZoomBrowser EX Updater
    Version 6.1.1a
    Released on 02-06-2008

...and at the bottom it is clearly not for the older OS.

Zoombrowser was developed by Canon but I am not sure if it was the app that automatically recognized when the digital camera was connected and then led me through the uploading process. If I could find another uploading utility that worked with 98se I'd try it.

I have a Canon A650. I use a card reader for the memory card. Then I just copy/move files using Windows Explorer.

I found Canon software to be limited in functionality compared to the many free imaging programs I already have installed.. Also, like Symantec and others, sticks itself in C:Program Files without giving the user the option to install somewhere else.

I agree with the card reader suggestion. They're dirt cheap, many varieties and just plugin to a USB port. Read and write all cards, all cameras. Example here: Cyberguys.com - 26-in-1 USB Card Reader

Edited to add: Oops, I posted and then remembered you said Win98! Sorry.
