    Error Message

First of all i consider myself the Oregon idiot when it comes to computers. I am running Vista Home Premium and when I did a backup it said that it failed because of error 0x8007045D. I went on line to CNET Forums and asked for help and was referred to another posting which said it was a problem a of file ownership and to check the files that didn't backup. How do i find which ones didn't? Any other suggestions on why i go the error message. Thanks for your help.

    Re: Error Message

Hey Joe -- I tried the suggested solution in that file but it didn't change anything. I still cant back up. However i did discover one other problem. I decided rather then back up my whole system i would just pick a few files and burn them to a dvd but my computer wont formatte a disc. I may end up having to take my computer to a tech. Any other suggestions?

Then perhaps you do need to find which files failed and take ownership and give you user account full control. I do not use Vista backup so I can't help you find out with finding the files. Maybe there is a backup log or you can check the event log.

Sorry if you know what you're doing more than I'm assuming here, but what do you mean when you say that your computer won't format a disc when you try to burn files to a dvd? Why should you need to format the dvd? There are some tips on burning dvds in Vista here which may help.
