    Export Specifications (Access 2003)

Is there a way to modify an export specification without starting an export and then opening the given specification?

    Thanks

Not easily. The details of import and export specifications are stored in two hidden system tables, so in theory you could modify them directly, but you'd have to be very careful - it's easy to mess up things. It's far safer to start an export and open, then edit the specification.

    Thanks.

Now I have a new issue. I modified the spec, but the follow line of code now produces an error.

DoCmd.TransferText acExportDelim, "ExportAllCurrentInfo", "AllEmp_CurrentInfo", "Cocuments and SettingsRAheronDesktopAllEmp_CurrentInfo.txt", True

I am getting an error that Access can not find the AllEmp_CurrentInfo.txt object.

This worked fine before the change to the export spec.

    Any clue what has changed?

    Thanks
    Richard

My first guess would be that the ExportAllCurrentInfo specification doesn't match the structure of the AllEmp_CurrentInfo table or query.

I will double check. I did find that when I leave the spec out of the statement it runs with no error.

    Thanks for your help
