Sharing issue? (2003)

The attached picture shows the main form of a DB shared by two users. (I can't attach a stripped down copy of the DB as I can't get it to below 100Kb despite best efforts).
I have been told that, since yesterday, one user cannot use the option shown highlighted from her PC; when OK is clicked, the DB hangs - there is no egg timer, error message etc. It just hangs. All other options work as normal. However, if she logs in on the other user's PC and accesses the same DB, everything works OK.

I was not involved in setting up either the network or the DB sharing. I can't test it here at home as we have exclusive access to our copy of the DB. I don't expect loungers to solve what's gone wrong from this woolly desctription, but can someone point me at the area(s) I need to look at to try and resolve this issue, please?

Thanks

Has the database been split into a frontend and backend?
If so, does each user have an individual copy of the frontend, or is there one shared frontend?

Sorry for delay in replying.
It has not been split into front and backend. There is only one file - the .mdb file - that I know of.

I don't have the slightest idea why the error occurs, but I'd start by splitting the database - see WendellB's tutorial Why Split a Database?

Re: Sharing issue? (2003)

I thought I'd share this experience, even though the liklihood that it helps someone else is remote.
When I attended the DB, the problem was as described - the option would not work from one PC but would from the other.
I tried fiddling with diagnostic stops in the VBA but this didn't solve the problem; it did, however, show that Access was getting as far as a Form Current procedure for the Volunteer Information form.
I closed the second (working) PC connection and commented out an "On error resume next" line of VBA in the Form Current procedure, and saved the changes. Lo - the problem had disappeared.
I reinstated the VBA On Error code and saved those changes but the problem did not come back.
This is hardly a scientific approach to problem solving but, circumstancially, it looks like there was some sort of locking issue and the need to have exclusive access (to change the VBA) cleared whatever was causing the problem.
Anyway, I've got two happy users, so I'm counting that as a result!

(I'm talking to the boss about splitting the DB as per Wendell's tutorial)

I'm glad you've solved the problem (it wouldn't have been easy for us to troubleshoot, from a distance).
