Converter for ODT document (Word 2002/XP)

We've just been sent a (complex) document in ODT format, and I wonder whether anyone knows of a good converter which enables the document to be accessed in Word XP/2002?

I've tried the "Sun ODF Plugin 1.2 for Microsoft Office" but the results for this specific document were unimpressive and messy.

I'd prefer not to have to install Open Office (or similar) if I can avoid it.

    Thanks!

If you don't want to install Open Office, ask the sender to save the document as a Word document (.doc) and send that.

    I'm afraid I don't have that option...

    Thanks, Hans

The results are pretty similar so it must just be that the original document was mis-formatted!

Still, what do you expect from the Big Lottery grants organisation....

No, this is a legit "we need further information before we can even think of giving you a grant" document; 47 pages of ODT Stuff sent to a charity we are advising...

How arrogant to use a non-standard format!

Re: Converter for ODT document (Word 2002/XP)

Hans' suggestion was to either install OpenOffice, open the document and re-save it as a Word document, OR have the original person do this. Is your reply indicating that neither of these is an option?

BATcher isn't online at the moment. In the original post he mentioned that he'd like to avoid installing Open Office, and later on he indicated that the document was sent by a grants organization (I assume Big Lottery Fund), and that organization is probably not willing to resend it in another format.
