A bit more detail!
The standard SpywareBlaster download indicated in Jeff's link is still v4.1, which has been available at least since June 2008. Updates happen every so often, provided you select and download them manually, so no big deal there.
What is new is that the Auto Update version, previously $9.99, is now if you supply your name and an email address. You have to accept "TrialPay's User Agreement", which on a very brief reading, I am not entirely happy with, and so I haven't proceeded any further as yet. At the left there is a box which explains "How do I get the full version free", which indicates that you have to "Complete One Offer", about which I would be even more dubious. (If you decide to go down the Continue button path, please say what else happens.)

I appreciate that you want to inform Loungers of this, but updates to the definition database occur every two weeks or so. It's not really necessary to post about each definition update in the Lounge - similar for definition updates to Spybot Search & Destroy, AdAware etc.
When I go to SpywareBlaster® AutoUpdate, it still mentions USD 9,95 as price
You're right, Hans, that's what you get at THAT link. BUT if you go to the first Javacool page, click on the "free download" button, you reach this page which DOES have the "offer" that Batcher talks about: SpywareBlaster® Download. Now, I don't know what conditions or vendors might have changed with Javacool, so I can only say in their behalf that I have been a (paid) autoupdate customer for some time and don't know of any ill effects from having done so. I *think* maybe Javacool can be trusted, but YMMV.
Yes, Big Al - I left out the "Click on the Download button" on the page linked to by Jeff, sorry!
I don't think there's a problem with Javacool as such - but there may be with the 'strings attached' offer involving TrialPay. A little more research reveals a PC World article and an explanation of the process on VentureBeat...

Thanks, I hadn't seen that.
I don't think there's a problem with Javacool itself, but I don't like the idea of TrialPay. (Like you, I have paid for AutoUpdate the regular way)
Oh boy, after reading Batcher's link to PC World article, I don't like the idea either. Looks like a waste of time.
