    Restoring OneNote Files (2007)

    Update, 12.55am

OK, I found the backup of the side notes, but:

I can open the various pages, but when I close OneNote, and then start it up again, the restored pages aren't there. They obviously are being saved into the current notebook. How do I get them to stay in the desired notebook?

    ----------------
I'm just starting to (try and) use OneNote.

I had several, I suppose 'Side Notes", as they were mostly screen clippings.

I just have been restoring my files from a backup, although, obviously, the Office install itself is fresh.

I cannot find where the OneNote files/clippings would be.

I didn't explicitly back them up, but did copy over all the files on my drive to a backup, plus took and image.

Where might these be stored so I could locate and retrieve them?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

What version are these restored files from?

Did you check ALL of the "Notebooks" that are listed on the Right side of the screen?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Dave:

    Yeah, AND I tested:

I went back in and opened up the backup page again, noting where I was.

I left OneNote, and when I came back in, they were.t there.

And there's no "Save" on the File Menu.

I read somewhere that it needed to "Sync" -- with what? as I'm not on a network.

So how do you save restored files into a current notebook?

    Re: Restoring OneNote Files (2007)

    Dave:

    I got it:

When I opened the pages from a backup, they wouldn't save. But then I dragged them into my personal notebook (a copy I believe from Unified Notes), and closed OneNote, and reopened, they weren't showing in Uified Notes any longer, but *were* still in the copy I had brought into my personal notenook.

    This program's a bit tricky.
