    word 2007 document properties (acess 2000)

    I have an access 2000 application that is being opened and run in access 2007 by some users. The application generates letters using a .dot template originally written in word xp. With most users there is no problem but occasionally some users report that the word documents open in a view that shows the document properties and not the values. With a bit of twiddling I can get a usable view of the document. I assume this is some kind of setting in word 2007. How can I set word 2007 to open the document in a normal view?

    The instruction to hide field codes within Word itself is

    ActiveWindow.View.ShowFieldCodes = False

    If you're automating Word from Access, you *must* prefix this with a reference to the Word application or the Word document. For example, if you have a variable objWord of type Word.Application, you can use:

    objWord.ActiveWindow.View.ShowFieldCodes = False
