PDF to word 2000 converter (word 2000 on XP home sp3)

Some guidance please from an inexperienced "Office" user. I have created a template for headed business paper in a desktop publishing programme (Serif Page Plus 11) and I am able to save it as a PDF format no problem and print from Acrobat PDF reader OK. What I would like to do is use this headed paper in Word 2000 for writing various documents and print from there, but of course the PDF wont open in Word. I obviously need to convert it, I dont do enough writing to justify paying for a converter. A search in the lounge gives me these options <post#=381,004>post 381,004</post#> but I'm still confused so are there any ideas for the simplest and easiest to use from anyone?

One option would be to discard the PDF file and design the template from scratch in Word.

Another option is to print a stack of pages from the PDF file, then print the Word document on this pre-printed paper.

Yes. I have other headed paper designed in Word which I use in this way. The one I did in the desktop publishing looks just right and not sure I can duplicate it in word. Perhaps I'll give it a go when I'm doodling around for a spare couple of hours.

I assume that Serif Page Plus 11 doesn't have an option to save as/export to .DOC format (that would be too easy, wouldn't it?), but does it perhaps save as/export to .RTF format or to .HTML format? You'd be able to open that in Word.

No such luck, even from PDF reader it will only save as a .txt and then I lose the formating and pictures. I am making headway with more googling though so I'm sure something will turn up eventually. Luckilly its not critical for me just a little something for my convenience.

Does file size in Word matter? If you maximize Adobe Reader and zoom the display to 200%, you can use the image copy feature to copy and paste rectangles of your design into the header of your Word template. (The zooming gives you more pixels per inch after you resize the image in Word.)

The way I would do this is to turn the artwork into a graphic and import that into the header of the Word document and position it correctly. Then the art will print on the page and not interfere with the content you put in the rest of the document. If the artwork is full page then you can make it full page in the header but the graphic will need to be 'floating' to avoid the header taking up the whole page.

You can create the graphic either by converting the PDF to PNG, JPG, EMF etc but I would open it in the desktop publishing software you used in the first place and export it as a graphic from there. What format options do you have for saving the graphic?

Thanks for all suggestions. I found this which seemed fairly simple and harmless pdf to word so gave it a try. It converted everything into a word doc except the different elements e.g. text, image, were not original size. It was easy enough to alter and move these about, but overall in my circumstances it was just as easy to start from scratch and create a new template based on the headed paper I wanted in Word as suggested in the first place. Passed a couple of hours on a wet sunday I suppose <img src=/S/RollEyes.gif border=0 alt=RollEyes width=19 height=19>
